Bones
Joe Grass
A fire in the night
Makes everything feel alright
Sound that surrounds me rings like bells in the street
Where's the hand to guide me down this long dark road
And who's gonna find me when I'm lost in the cold?
When I'm lost in the cold.
Yeah, there's bones buried deep
On the old north steep
But they've still got a long fall
A house that sits high all bare and torn
Windows and shutters from the wind they are worn
From the wind they are worn.
I wondered about the ocean
And how it might've felt
To raise a sail and ride upon the breeze
But I'm not a man that can feel any pain
So I'll just stand here in this north rain
In this north rain
Well, the ocean takes the fallow bones
They fall into the sea
And grind into dust and stone
Should I take it back there, is that where I belong?
Memories buried with these old bones
With these old bones
A fire in the night
Makes everything feel alright
Sound that surrounds me rings like bells in the street
Where's the hand to guide us down this long dark road?
And who's gonna find me when I'm lost in the cold?
