Listening to the Grateful Dead
A F Harrold
Er, th ... two poems, next ladies and gentlemen about er, popular music of one sort or another.
The first of them is called Listening to the Grateful Dead.
I listen to the Grateful Dead
Lying side by side with Fred
We do not touch
We do not speak
We do it several times a week
Sometimes we lie on the bed
And sometimes on the floor instead
We do not hum
That's not allowed
Though sometimes we invite a crowd
We take with us a loaf of bread
To ensure we are both well fed
It's said that people spend their time
In different ways
Well this is mine
I listen to the Grateful Dead
In London, Stroud and Maidenhead
I'm very pleased to have a hobby
I learnt it from Fred's brother Bobby
