A Truth About Pavements
A F Harrold
This poem is called: A Truth About Pavements and I'd like to er
recommend it to anyone who
who ever encounters pavements in their life
I mean some of us do, some of us
Some of us don't
I expect. It's that sort of world.
A Truth About Pavements.
It's best to be wary of pavements
Sometimes they creep up on you with their crablike shuffle
Their sideways walk
And they slip their kerb away from or unexpectedly under your feet or foot
Causing you to trip up, slip, mis-step or otherwise blunder your way
Into embarrassment
Although it's hard to be sure of their motives
I suspect pavements are probably just perniciously puckish
